Health and Insurance
1. Insurance
All international students are entitled for national health care coverage after six months of residency in Taiwan. The monthly cost for the national health care coverage is $826, paid at the Centre for International Affairs. For the first six months of residency, all international students should seek alternative medical insurance.

Exchange students who plan to stay in Taiwan for less than six months cannot benefit from the National Health Insurance; however, if they wish to purchase alternative medical insurance, please contact the Centre for International Affairs.
2. Health Service
The campus clinic is located at the basement of Technology Building (Tel: 03-328-3201 ext. 2015/2016), which provides basic medical service, student physical exam, health education and consultation. The medical treatment for students is free of charge. After registering, students just wait for treatment; Appointments are not necessary. After receiving medical care, students can take their prescriptions to a nearby pharmacy.
All incoming first-year students are required to take physical examinations or present their physical examination records when they enroll at NTSU. If you have already taken the physical examination before coming to NTSU, simply present a copy of your record to the Office of Students Affairs when you enroll; students from Mainland China are required to take the examination after they arrive in Taiwan. Since the date of physical examination held at NTSU is subject to change each year, students can choose a nearby hospital for physical examinations if they miss it.
